In order for a microorganism to be considered probiotic, it must meet several criteria, one of which is surviving the passage through the stomach, where pH is very low, from 1.5 to 3. LGG is resistant to stomach acid, as well as to bile.

It is well known that antibiotics do not act selectively, meaning that apart from removing pathogens, they also distort the composition of normal intestinal micro flora.
