Instead of drinking coffee in the town centre, Dukat’s employees headed to an illegal dumping ground
On 21 April, Dukat's employees joined the national environmental
clean-up action called "Green Cleanup - one day for a clean
environment". Instead of drinking coffee in the town centre,
Dukat's employees headed to Zagreb neighbourhood Dugave, whose
inhabitants are faced with daily accumulation of improperly
disposed waste.
Diligent hands of Dukat's employees collected and sorted 36 m3 of bulky waste that was taken away to
waste collection points and legal waste disposal sites on the same
day. Dukat's employees pointed out that they support individual
contribution to greener and cleaner Croatia and believe that their
efforts will inspire employees of many other companies to join the
green initiatives.
At the end of last year Dukat launched its own ecological project
called Dukat Green Zone, whose aim is to support and raise
awareness of its employees, suppliers, partners and general public
of the importance of responsible environmental behaviour.
Therefore, it is no wonder that Dukat's employees have demonstrated
a high level of environmental awareness and joined the action in
great numbers.
"Green Cleanup - one day for a clean environment" is organized for
the first time in Croatia by the non-profit organization Žmergo
from Opatija and it has gathered the largest number of volunteers
ever in a common environmental cleaning action.
The action is conducted as a part of the project World Cleanup
2012 and global initiative Let's Do It! Currently, there are 82
countries from all over the world participating in the project,
Croatia being one of them.
